The company is involved in the design and production of Electronic Price Systems since 1982.
In the period 1982 - 1987 the focus was on the design and production of control sets with POS connection for electro-magnetic displays.
In 1987 an order from the Elf group formed the start of the current Moving Film™ product line. The first generation roller blind EPS was born.
In 1993, Shell International started their RVI re-imaging project. Especially for this project a second generation roller blind EPS, called PCU2000, was developed. From 1994 to 1996 LTI supplied Shell as a single-supplier with this technology. In 1995 alone almost 50.000 digits were supplied.
In 1996 LTI started marketing actively the PCU roller blind technology to other clients, resulting in the re-imaging project with the ECCE group for FINA in Europe. Since then, we have supplied numerous other companies like Total, Elf, Esso, Tesco, Safeway, Repsol, Petronas, Caltex.
At the end of 1998 sales into the USA developed. Clients include oil-companies like Exxon, Diamond Shamrock, Total, BP and large retailers like Tom Thumb, Circle-K and Randalls.
During 1999 and 2000, the focus has been towards re-imaging FINA and ELF signs to the TOTAL image in the Netherlands and price change systems for unmanned petrol stations. We supplied all the price systems for Tango, the pioneer in this field.
In 2001 LTI started development of the new EPS3000 concept for electronic price systems that was formulated in close cooperation with our major customers. A result of that development is the new Multi-Segment™ LED true-font display and the new Moving Film™ Technology display. Both systems have been rolled out since 2003 and more then 1500 electronic price systems have been installed worldwide in 2004. New developments, like the first Internet connected price sign are to be introduced in 2005.
