Moving Film™ Technology (MFT) is used to change and display prices. MFT is a mechatronic display technology which offers a highly reliable, cost effective solution to display price information in the corporate identity colours and typeface. PCU’s using MFT are referred to as PCUF. Each PCUF can contain maximum four MFT digits.
- The Price Change Digits (PCD) are of the MFT type and based on a two motor system with heavy duty gears. No strings or belts are used to ensure film tension. Further, the film tension is fully electronical controlled.
- The PCUF frame is made out of two steel side-panels, fitted together with two horizontal aluminium profiles. Two transparent acrylic sheets are installed in the front and back of the PCU to make it into a closed box. This protects the parts inside the PCU against dripping water and direct dust impact. A ventilator in the PCUF protects the parts against overheating and condensation.
- Angle of visibility of the numerals is at least 120 degrees.
- The films are made of a material, which offers a good dimensional stability when exposed to variations in temperature and humidity. The numerals are screen printed on the film.
- A separate acrylic sheet is slid behind the film to obtain the background colour. When inverse characters are used, stripes in the colour of the character are made onto the acrylic to fill the spaces between the individual digits. In one of the stripes the decimal point is created.
- In the top profile, optical position sensors are built-in to detect the absolute film position and ensure a correct alignment of the numbers.
- The PCUF frame-size is standard available in various dimensions. The digits are standard available in various character heights, font types and colours. Optionally, both frame and digits can be made to suit customer requirements.
